Approach

  • Conducted detailed research on bipolar disorder and some famous artists, poets, and musicians who suffered from bipolar disorder (Van Gogh, Pollock, Picasso, Munch, Beethoven, Sylvia Plath, etc.).

  • Designed four looks inspired by these artists and their works, each linked to an emotional state.

  • Integrated quotes and narration from writers and poets (Kafka, Woolf, Hemingway) in the designed looks for authenticity.

  • Produced a fashion film following a day in the life of a girl with bipolar disorder, to humanize and normalize the condition.

  • Created a full costume collection and fashion film.

outcomes and impact

Created a 4-look conceptual collection and fashion film that fused costume, literature, art, and music to visually narrate bipolar disorder. The project raised awareness about mental health, showing how fashion can act as cultural commentary and build empathy around stigmatized conditions.
